Modeling A Three Filament Plasma Experiment with An Adapted Single Filament Model
September 2021- December 2021
We modeled a plasma experiment conducted on the Large Plasma Device at UCLA, in which three electron cathodes injected electrons into a magnetized, low energy helium plasma. Our hypothesis was that the experiment could be represented using an adapted single filament model combined with a potential well function. The results were mixed, as the model captured certain aspects of the experiment but failed to accurately reproduce others.
